The weather has been glorious and Troy and I have been making the most of it. The last few days have been perfect for those wonderful long walks with the dog. We’ve tramped over hill and over dale and followed just about every dusty trail… seriously though it has been a thoroughly enjoyable few days. As always while out with the dog I had my little camera in my pocket an I though I’d share some of the photographs I’ve taken with you.

Class JaguarAlso this week I’ve seen something that to me at least is quite incredible. One of the walks Troy and I go on regularly is down to the nature reserve at Billingemölla to get there we have to pass through a large plantation of willow being grown for wood biomass heating fuel. This week I’ve watched it being harvested. Almost two hectares of willow cleared in less than three days. The willow was between two and three inches and it was cleared and shredded by a Class Jaguar, a sort of overgrown combined harvester on steroids. The results look just like a field of wheat that has been harvested, just neat rows of stubble or in this case tree stumps, that I assume will regrow as essentially they have just been mechanically coppiced

Anyway here are the promised photographs – enjoy.
