 Summer is Over
The night runs away with the day
The grass that was green is now hay
The world goes around without even a sound
And it looks like the summer is over

The rains tumble down in the sky
Young swallows have learned how to fly
The leaves that were green are no longer so green
And it looks like the summer is over

The bad weather that has been plaguing the UK seems to come for a visit. The weather had been more autumnal than summer like for most of the week but on Thursday things took a turn for the worst.

Having survived midsummer, life has moved on. The weather has been varied sunshine and showers, all very good for the all things green. The hedgerows are dripping with cherries; ten minutes of picking on Sunday morning resulted in a couple of pounds of small but fantastically flavoured cherries.
