There are things people claim you never forget, like riding a bicycle. They claim you climb back on and instantly remember all the painful lessons learnt as a child. Milking goats is allegedly on of these skills. |

It’s been almost a month since I last wrote anything. This does not mean I’ve been doing nothing and any rumours of my demise have been greatly exaggerated. Steph has been on off work for his summer break and we’ve been very busy. A lot has happened in the last month, including fledging, hatchings and new additions. |

I am beginning to wonder if this is where I am at right now. I don’t mean in a Blanche Dubois way, but just that I was surprised and very moved by a perfect stranger today. |

The bad weather that has been plaguing the UK seems to come for a visit. The weather had been more autumnal than summer like for most of the week but on Thursday things took a turn for the worst. |

Having survived midsummer, life has moved on. The weather has been varied sunshine and showers, all very good for the all things green. The hedgerows are dripping with cherries; ten minutes of picking on Sunday morning resulted in a couple of pounds of small but fantastically flavoured cherries. |
